The IGIS report investigates NZ’s role in the CIA’s illegal system of rendition and torture of captives in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, and the subsequent invasion of Afghanistan.
Reportedly most (and possibly all) of the Royal Commission investigation into the Christchurch mosque shootings will be closed to the general public and to the media.
The Royal Commission will consider whether the SIS placed the eventual victims under undue surveillance – while paying comparatively little attention to the threat posed by white nationalism.
So there is to be a Royal Commission inquiry into the mosque attacks… at least this will be somewhat at arms length from the government whose agencies will be under scrutiny.
