The first step in resolving this issue is to guarantee Assange a safe passage to Sweden. A few rape charges? Boo hoo, having a rape conviction is nothing compared to being assassinated by predator drones, or being jailed for life in solitary confinement. It's really cute that Sweden cares about women's rights, but what about whistleblower's rights? Assange could be raped in prison if he's sent to the US, he could also be tortured, waterboarded and sent to a secret CIA blacksite anywhere in the world. Again, it's real cute that people care about women's rights so much but if you care about women's rights then why not protest against the fact that Obama is killing hundreds of women and children with his predator drones? That's the really sick thing. Assange refuses to leave the embassy until his rights are guaranteed; hating on Assange won't do anything to hurry him along. Let's start questioning the dubious "aiding Al Qaeda" charge which the US is so fixated with.

I sympathize with Ms. Khan’s suffering. It is easy to lose one’s gruntle upon discovering that one’s hero exhibits the behaviour patterns of a human being.

How perspicacious she is to note the parallels between Mr. Assange and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard! Mr. Hubbard claimed to be a nuclear physicist; Mr. Assange claims to be a mathematician. Mr. Hubbard wrote a book, “Excalibur,” that he believed would "revolutionize everything" and “would have a greater impact upon people than the Bible." Mr. Assange has also written a book.

Scientology operatives plotted to plant false records about "a cat with a pedigree name" into United States government computers in order to ridicule their security systems. Assange, a notorious cat-torturer, has challenged the security of U.S. Government agencies since 1989. Scientologists stole thousands of government documents; the new WikiLeaks mockumentary is entitled “We Steal Secrets.” Mr. Hubbard extracted hundreds of thousands of dollars from his followers and cruised the world in his fleet of yachts, as Mr. Assange does today.

I'm sorry Ms. Khan lost twenty thousand pounds, but look on the bright side: she'll now be able to fit into those topless, backless, frontless dresses hanging in the far reaches of her walk-in closet.

Sophie Goldstein, MSW ( ret.), DSFA

(My great aunt. She threatened to reveal how much weight I've put on if I didn't let her use my computer.)

I find it hard to believe that the Sweden "case" can still be taken seriously, after prosecutors publicly discuss proceedings, assassinate Julians character on radio and television, and that emails were revealed between the 2 women in question discussing money and pay-outs. There is too much inconsistency. How anyone can NOT question the legitimacy of Swedens' ongoing desire to have him under arrest, extradited, or "in custody", shows a real lack of foresight and a massacre of free journalism. Are we all so scared of the truth now? It makes one wonder.

I see mainstream reporters and journalists to be one and the same as part-time bloggers these days. Ask the stupid questions, and leave the glaringly obvious ones stewing, like a metaphorical elephant in the room. It's disgusting that people can't see through the fabrications and half truths, and actually take a "governments word" at face value. Are people not awake to the fact that givernments lie constantly? Every day? To ordinary citizens? Our own government won't even lift a finger to help an Australian citizen, who has broken NO laws. There is NO law against publishing, yes, PUBLISHING, material, that come to Wikileaks, unless of course, it is found that it endangered national security or the risk of human life, which I for one, can't find evidence of anywhere. Does this not reek of a hidden agenda to you blind "authors" and "journo's" out there?

Seriously, you government loving "reporters" or "politicians", have everything so focused on the propoganda and the garbage the media feeds you, that it makes me sick.

Jen Robinson, you're a bright star in the murky sky of this case, you've been there from day 1 with Julian (shout-out to Scott Ludlam also), and you keep my faith in humanity going. Keep it up. :)
