I must be missing something! What happened to are term limits or did the voters lose out again. This is sad Jerry Brown has already served his eight years. Why do we vote if are politicians over power us and take it away is this why he became attorney general so he could over turn the term limit that the people in California voted for. Shame on are government and vote them out. Why doses are

November 24 update: A couple of days after the publication of Werewolf, the Lieutenant Governor of California (Garamendi)was elected to the US House in a special election caused by CA District 10's incumbent being appointed to the Obama Administration.

That cleared the way for Gov. Schwarzenegger to nominate an LG to replace Garamendi. Today he announced who that nominee is: Maldonado. Given the name recognition that being LG will give him, and assuming the CA legislature approves the appointment, it is probable that Maldonado will run for governor in 2010.

CORRECTION
My bad. The Attorney General does indeed have jurisdiction over both sides of the "law and order" equation. This is part of Article 5 of the California Constitution:
The Attorney General shall have direct supervision over every district attorney and sheriff and over such other law enforcement officers as may be designated by law, in all matters pertaining to the duties of their respective offices, and may require any of said officers to make reports concerning the investigation, detection, prosecution, and punishment of crime in their respective jurisdictions as to the Attorney General may seem advisable.
